About work and travel tax refund.

Hi I was a J1 student last year. Last summer I went to Montana to work and travel. Now I'm doing my tax refund and I heard from my friend about you two days ago. But I already sent my 1040RN-EZ three days ago. So I want to know is it work that I fill my tax with TurboTax?

About work and travel tax refund.

If you are a J1 student that has been in the US for less than 5 years or part years, you are a nonresident and you need to file a 1040NR return, which it appears you already filed.  So you are fine.

As a nonresident, you cannot file a resident return with TurboTax.  TurboTax is only for US citizens and residents.
