1040 0r 1040NR

I am an international student. I stayed in the U.S. throughout the year 2022. In 2023, I used TurboTax to file my taxes.  TurboTax application generated questions, which I answered truthfully.  However,  I did not have the chance to choose my tax forms (whether 1040 or 1040NR) on the TurboTax application.  After the completion of my tax filing, TurboTax sent a completed 1040 form to me as evidence of filing. Being in the U.S. for one year preceding the tax year does not satisfy the substantial presence test.  At this point, am I supposed to amend my taxes and use form 1040NR instead of 1040?

Yes, you will need to amend your taxes to file the proper form.  TurboTax does not support filing of form 1040-NR.  For self-preparation of this form we recommend Sprintax.
