I've been living and working  physically in FL since Feb, but paycheck location only updated to FL in Sept.  Please advise on which residency box choice to select

Select Non-Resident.  If you moved into or out of South Carolina during the year, you are a part-year resident.  South Carolina allows you to consider yourself a full-year resident or a nonresident.  If you file as a nonresident, file the SC1040 with the Schedule NR. You will be taxed only on income earned while a resident in South Carolina and income from South Carolina sources. You will prorate your deductions. All personal service income earned in South Carolina must be reported.  Even though your employer continued to withhold SC tax after you moved out of the state, you do not have to pay South Carolina tax on that income.  You will need to calculate your income while a SC resident, and enter that amount in the SC tax return when it asks what part of your total income was attributable to SC.

As you probably already know, your new state of Florida does not have an income tax, so you won't have to file anything for Florida.
