Why is there NJ tax withheld from my paycheck if I work in New York City?

Hi,

I just switch to a new job this month, and the recent paycheck shown I have been taking out tax from New Jersey. Although I live in NJ and work in New York, should I only get tax taking out from my paycheck in NY rather than NJ?

IT-360.1 TP: Line 1b is greater than the amount of Wage income allocated to New York State on IT-203. Edit amounts on the Part-Year Resident/Nonresident Allocation Worksheet or City Wage/Self-Employment Income Allocation Worksheet as needed.
