State Tax - PA W-2 Reconciliation Worksheet Needed?

Hi team!

So I have the special PA situation of "The Medicare wages in Box 5 on your Form W-2 are greater than your PA wages in Box 16"

I know this has been addressed before but the wording from https://www.revenue.pa.gov/FormsandPublications/FormsforIndividuals/PIT/Documents/pa-40_w-2_rw.pdf states that "The W-2 RW must be completed by taxpayers when the
amount shown as Medicare wages in Box 5 of the W-2 are greater than Pennsylvania wages shown in Box 16 and there is insufficient information included on the W-2 to reconcile the wages without the additional information represented on the W-2 RW"

My box 12a Code is C which relates to "group term life insurance" which is non-taxable in PA. This is clear and sufficient information to reconcile the discrepancy, wouldn't it be? Hence, there's no need to submit the PA W-2 Reconciliation Worksheet, right?

Thanks so much!!

As long as you are only reconciling it by the amount in box 12 that the authorities in Pennsylvania will see then you are correct - there is no need to file a W-2 RW.
