Part year NJ res. Filed NJ return using Turbotax. Refund calculated by Turbo Tax was reduced by state of NJ. NJ said also file nonresident return. How do I add that?

If you moved out of NJ during the tax year, but continued working for an NJ employer, you would file:

1.  A part-year resident return for NJ, reporting all your income during your time of NJ residency;

2.  A part-year resident return for the other state you lived in, reporting all your income during your time of residency there;

3.  A non-resident return for NJ, reporting your income earned in NJ after you became a resident of the other state.  (See Part-Year Resident on page 3 of this reference under "Which Form to File":  https://www.state.nj.us/treasury/taxation/pdf/current/1040nri.pdf)

In TurboTax, you would prepare your non-resident return first, before you do the part-year resident returns.
