NYS Status Pending

My federal return was accepted the day after I efiled, however my New York return is still listed as pending.  This worries me because last year they both were accepted the same day.

Does this mean I made an error or could this just be a normal wait?

If your state return says "Pending", that doesn't mean anything is wrong. Sometimes returns are accepted right away and sometimes it takes a few days. Just check on it from time to time.

If you get a notice that it is "Rejected", you will need to log back in, make corrections and submit the return again.
