Entering New Jersey TSP contributions on "Enter Other Wage Income" Page?

I am filing my state taxes in New Jersey and Virginia for 2019. I have been in NJ since August 2019 and Virginia before that. I am a government employee and it seems that NJ requires you to report your TSP contributions. Should this already be reflected in my W2 for NJ wages or do I need to separately type in my contributions on the Other Wage Income page? I searched this question and got conflicting answers. Also, I have a roth and traditional TSP. Will only the traditional contributions be reported? Any information would be appreciated.

If your W2 is only for your wages in New Jersey, it will be automatically included in your Box 15-16-17.  You would only have to add if you had nonresident income from another state while you were a New Jersey resident.  Both the traditional and Roth TSP is included but your Roth contributions were included in your Box 1 federal amount.

The W2 includes my total wages for the year (from Virginia and New Jersey). If I add up box 16 for NJ and for VA it is a number greater than Box 1. Should I just assume that the correct traditional TSP contribution was included in box 16 for NJ? Thanks.

The amount That you contributed for your TSP should be included in your box 16 wages for the period of time you lived in NJ.
