Hi Everyone,
Perhaps a unique question-
Some basics:
I recently opened a SM-LLC (Disregarded entity) that's registered in NYC. I work from home and live in NYC so I need to pay unincorporated business income (BUT). So far so good..
When I opened the LLC under my SSN, I got an "EIN number" and when I'll file my 1040 (married filing jointly, my wife is a W2), my LLC income will be reported on my Schedule-C.
To the actual question-
I want to pay "Estimated UBT taxes" online, so my steps were:
- Go to gov.nyc/eservices
- Scroll down and click on "Letter for Registration"
Now, I see "ID Type". Do I choose "SSN" or "Employer ID"? (assuming employer ID == EIN??)
I chose "SSN" and completed the process (putting my name, address etc.), but at no point did I put my LLC name or EIN.
Does that make sense? Will the system 'understand' that when I pay UBT taxes under my SSN, it is the same as paying under my LLC/EIN?
Thank you!
