My husband lived in Hawai’i and I in California. How do I report his out of state income on my CA state tax return?

It depends on the filing status you are using. You can do MFJ for both states and claim a credit on CA for the HI income. If you are MFS, things are more complicated. See Married Filing Separately in community property states.

I did my tax return on the 14th of April I had to completely do paper check for our return! So was I supposed to copy the documents and sign them and mail them in myself
