Multiple States and outside of country. What is my residency?

For 2023, I lived in PA for 157 days, CA for 80 days and outside of US for 128 days.

(20 days outside US, 157 days in PA, 69 days outside US, 42 days in CA, 39 days outside US, 38 days in CA)
My employer is in California and they deducted CA state tax for the full year.

While in PA, I never rented, and lived with family; Had a PA DL.

Moved to CA, got a CA DL and started renting in Dec 2023.

Now what is my residency status for CA and PA?

"State or Country of Prior Residence" for CA filing is PA or foreign country?

"State or Country of Prior Residence" for PA filing is?

How should I split my income between CA and PA and Outside all while I was working for employer in CA.

Thanks!

In the Personal Info section of TT, you should enter CA as your State of Residence.  Since your stays in a foreign country appear to have been temporary or transient rather than a permanent move, and since your domicile or main, primary home prior to your move to CA appears to have been in PA, you should designate PA as your Prior Residence.

CA can tax all the income you earned after your move to CA, plus any income you earned by physically working in CA prior to your move.

PA can tax all the income you earned prior to the date of your permanent move to CA.

On your federal return, you should be able to claim a foreign tax credit for any income taxes you paid to foreign countries.  Whether this will carry through to your state tax returns will depend on the particular state's tax laws.  Some states do not allow a foreign tax credit.
