I have lived in New York State for the entire 2023 year, but received unemployment benefits from Connecticut for 9 months because my remote job was based there. Do I get a credit from Connecticut for having paid taxes in both states, even as a nonresident?

If you paid Connecticut tax on your unemployment income, you can file a Non-Resident state return there. You may get a refund, depending on the amount of your UI income, and the amount of tax paid.

New York will tax all of your income, but gives you a credit for tax you paid to CT, so you're not double-taxed.
