Line 74 excess SDI

If you're having trouble e-filing your state tax return because line 74 which deals with excess SDI, the amount cannot be greater than zero, I had zero on my state tax return and was unable to e -file my tax return, after 30 minutes of scratching my head trying to figure out why I cannot e-file since I did not pay into the SDI, I simply deleted all the associated numbers in the box and left it completely blank.

Leaving line 74 blank with no numbers, not even a zero (0.) I was finally able to submit my state tax return

Hope this helps someone out and saves them the headache of trying to figuring out why they can't e-file
