You must file a Colorado income tax
return if during the year you are required to file a federal income tax return,
or you have a Colorado income tax liability for the year. You would only have Colorado tax liability if you had income that is taxable in Colorado but not federal (so if you have salary, self employment, retirement you probably do not have to file)
