I was chargerd $40 and i didnt need to file state taxes

If you have already entered information in the state tax section, you would need to remove it from the program.

In TurboTax online,

Sign in to your account, select Pick up where you left off
To your left, select State
Follow prompts
On-screen, Status of your state returns
Under your state, select Delete
