I've been a Massachusetts resident for less than half a year. I earned over $8K in Texas as a Texas resident and $0 Mass income. Do I still need to file a Mass tax form?

I earned ~$1K in interest income from savings accounts. Over $8K from work in Texas as a Texas resident. Moved to Mass in August as a student. Could I file a Federal tax return for the interest income, and W-2 from Texas, but not file an MA state tax return?

Per Massachusetts state, it does not appear you are requred to file for 2018.  See:  https://www.mass.gov/service-details/who-must-file-a-state-personal-income-tax-return
