Enter you drivers license exactly as it is that you have. Do not change this to simply match the state that you were in before. You can have a drivers license from one state and file as a resident of another for your 2017 return.

When filing NY state tax, it requests a NY driver license which I provided but then a document number error appears "document number's first 3 characters must be entered"
