Yes, you will file exactly as you did in previous years. So you will enter the information from reporting documents such as W2 in your Tax Return and file it with the IRS. The fact that you were only employed until September 31 does not make a difference when reporting the income you earned during the rest of 2016.
Please keep in mind that if you also only lived in California until September you are a part-time resident for this State which may be a factor when creating your State Income Tax Return.
