I had my taxes automatically paid from my bank account then i sent in a personal check for the same amount. how can i fix this issue

The simplest way to fix it is to do nothing. Most likely the IRS will notice the double payment and send you a refund of the excess without your having to do anything. If you don't hear anything from them after a couple of months you will have to call them at 800-829-1040 to straighten it out.
