Hello. I did not know that HSA's contributions are counted as income in my state of CA (I do not believe seeing this issue last year) and that turbo tax automatically adds it as part of state wages. I contribute to HSA through payroll deduction and my employer reports the contributions as part of the state wages in box 16 of W2. I thought the excess HSA contribution reported by turbo tax was an error and somehow I finally figured out how to get rid of the excess contribution, I think I deleted or updated a form. Through the Q&A in the help section, I learned the correct way to fix this is by adding an explanatory entry under Other Adjustment to Income and the HSA contribution in the Substract field. Please advise how do I reset the state tax section so I can make the correct entries. Thanks!
