How do I determine what state my exempt-interest dividends are from? Is it the state I live in?

It depends.

 

Fidelity should have provided some additional disclosures for your funds letting you know what state or the allocation for the state.  

 

It typically is listed on a different page from your 1099-D.  You can also try logging into your investment account and find the allocation information there as well.
