Georgia return not accepted yet

I efiled both my federal and Georgia returns on April 15th using the TurboTax Premier desktop version. Federal was accepted right away, but Georgia still says pending. I owed Georgia tax this year and those funds came out of my account today (4/18). Should I be worried about the Georgia status still saying pending?

There's nothing to be concerned about.  State tax returns can sometimes take several weeks before being processed.  I have experienced numerous processing delays with Georgia tax returns.  Moreover, there doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason as to what causes the delays.  Be patient, and don't worry.

Same thing is happening with Illinois returns. They've never been delayed this long.

Some states start processing e-filed returns at the same time as the IRS, while some others do not.   Please see the TurboTax article Why is my state e-file still pending?

You can also visit your state’s Department of Revenue for more information.  Please review the TurboTax article How do I contact my state's Department of Revenue? for more information.
