GA military retirement exclusion for Veterans ages 62 to 64

Why can't we receive GA military retirement exclusion? Veterans ages 62 to 64 are eligible. My husband is 63.

Yes, you should get that on your Georgia state tax return. The exclusion is limited to $17,500 or the total of your taxable military income, whichever is less.

There's a check box for it early in the state interview. Here's how to find it:

1. Sign in to your TurboTax account.
2. Select State Taxes, then Your State Returns.
3. Select Edit to the right of Georgia.
4. Continue through the return until your get to Here's the income that Georgia handles differently.
5. Select Start to the right of Retirement Income Exclusion/ Military Retirement Exclusion.
6. You will see a screen with both of your names and all of your 1099-R income. Check the boxes under your husband's name to indicate which pensions qualify for the exclusion. 
7. Select Continue.
