I live in NJ and earn income in NY. When filing nonresident NY taxes, I was asked how much of my $6000 distribution (conversion from Traditional IRA to Roth IRA) is taxable in NY. Do I put 0 or $6000? And what should I put for my NJ return?

If you are a New Jersey resident, zero is taxable for New York state income. It would be reported as New Jersey income.
