I entered incorrect amounts in the quarterly income amounts for my Illinois penalty calculation. it now wont let me change those amounts. It just says you no longer owe a penalty. How do I fix this?

To revisit that section of your state return, please follow the instructions below:

  1. Open your state return.
  2. Continue through the pages until you reach, A few things before we wrap up your state taxes.
  3. Click Revisit next to Late payment and underpayment penalties.
  4. Answer no to the Possible Underpayment Penalty screen.
  5. Continue through the screens and enter the correct information.

When i go to the underpayment page it just says that I no longer have an underpayment penalty. It does not give me an option to change my payment amounts by quarter.

Some of the state returns won't display the underpayment penalty interview questions unless TurboTax has tentatively calculated a penalty.

If you entered quarterly payments that were incorrect, you could go back to the Federal return, and make changes to the estimated taxes paid in Deductions & Credits, Estimated Taxes, State Estimated Taxes. You can change other state payments in the Other Income Taxes section.
