If you are self-employed or considered an independent contractor, this will get entered as self-employment income on Schedule C. You will be able to deduct your travel and other business related expenses as well.
Depending on which states you worked in and how much you earned in those states, you may or may not have to file a return for each of those states.
To enter your self-employment income select the following:

Since this income will be reported on Schedule C which is part of your overall tax return. This also means you will be subject to Self-Employment (SE) Tax. If you did not pay SE Taxes in 2024, and if you plan to do this again in 2025, it may be a good idea to make quarterly estimated payments to cover your SE taxes of 15.3% and avoid penalties.
