A form 1099-NEC is received when you have income as a non-employee related to contracted income or self-employment. If you expected to receive a Form 1099-NEC, it should have been sent by January 31. Contact the issuer of the form.
If you received a 1099-NEC, you will need to enter it in the income section of TurboTax as self-employment income. You may also enter expenses associated with the self-employment to reduce your taxable income.
