I am trying to file my return and it’s forcing me to complete a 1099 NEC form which I do not have. I am self-employed, mostly doing freelance and gig work. So am I supposed to know the Social Security numbers of anyone who’s ever paid me cash? That would be absurd. I just don’t understand how I’m supposed to fill this form out? I Don’t recall having to complete this in previous years.

If you don't have a 1099-NEC then you don't need to fill that out. There was a little tick box that asked if you had received the form. You need to check that box with a 'no' so that you don't have to fill that out.
I do not recall seeing that question or a box to check about it anywhere at any point. Not sure if it’s because I’m not using the deluxe version…? But it’s when I do review that comes up as something. I must review, and there is no option to bypass the screen where I’m supposed to enter the 1099-NEC information.
Did you have a 1099NEC last year that could have transferred over? You need to try to delete it.
to be more specific it says, “Ok, now let’s get some details from your 1099-NEC”
and then it’s all in red highlighting with, red triangles with “!” In them, saying, I must enter Payers info, along with either their Social Security number or EIN number, (saying one Must be selected) below that are two boxes (box 1 & box 4) that are not showing in red highlighting. Below that is 2 options with boxes to check. One saying that, I have made direct sales totaling $5000 Or more of Consumer products to Recipient for resale, and, My form has information in boxes 5-7.
I looked through all my documents, and I really don’t see one. Any idea how I would I go about deleting it on the TurboTax site? It seems that I must absolutely complete it before moving on. and I’m not sure how to get rid of it. or if I do, how will that affect my return or will it affect it? Thanks so much for your help!
