Why wasn't I informed of omitting my social security benefits?

Shouldn't I be notified of major differences between tax years?  Would this be the reason why my filing was rejected?

First, the TurboTax product is a DIY (Do-it-yourself) product. You are expected to review your own return. TurboTax does not do your return, since TurboTax does not sign your return.

You have an alternative, which is to use TurboTax Live. In TurboTax Live, you have the option to have a credentialed tax professional review your return or to ask tax professional to walk through your return with you line-by-line (in this case, the tax professional signs your return).

Please see TurboTax Live for more.

As for why your return was rejected, it is unlikely that it was rejected because you left out an income item. Give us the reject code and message, and we'll see if we can help.
