Yes, you can edit the stimulus payment information in your return. If you receive the first round payment of $1200 and received the second round of $600, you can place that information in your return as long as you haven't submitted your return. As you navigate through the return, you will reach a screen that resembles the screenshot i have included below. This is a test example for a married couple filing jointly for illustrative purposes. Here you would indicate
- If you received the stimulus,
- How much you received in the first and second rounds
- Or indicate you didn't receive the stimulus checks
- If you completed your return and unable to edit. You will need to wait until IRS accepts electronic filing submissions and then amend your return. IRS will not accept electronic filing submissions until Feb 12,2021 per IRS link.
