W2 Form Request

After completing all required sections for filing, I was asked to fill out a W2 attachment, but I am retired and not employed. Most of the requested information is not applicable and I was not asked to do this last year. I cannot complete my Turbo Tax filing process. Help!!!!

W2 Form Request

If the Form W-2 does not apply to you, you can simply remove the form from the program.  Here are the steps:

In TurboTax online,

1.  Sign into your account, select Pick up where you left off

2.  Select Tax Tools, click on the drop down arrow

3.  Select Tools

4.  Under Other helpful links, choose Delete a form

5.  Select Delete next to the Form W-2 and Continue with My Return

To delete a form in the TurboTax desktop version, here are the steps:

Open up your tax return if you have not already done so.

1.  At the right upper corner, select Forms

2.  To your left, you would see a list of all the tax forms and worksheets, scroll down and select Form W-2

3.  While W-2 appears to your right, at the bottom of the screen, select Delete Form

Upon retirement, instead of a Form W-2, you might be receiving a Form 1099-R if you take out any distribution from your retirement plans.  If you receive a distribution due to Covid, there are some special tax treatments the IRS offers to help taxpayers alleviate their tax liability.  To learn more, click here: Covid Relief
