TurboTax not recognizing my FAMILY HDHP Insurance for for my wife.
I am doing the 2023 Tax as JOINT return filer.
It takes my HDHP insurance type as FAMILY and validates for my HSA limits. My HSA is the olny one for the entire family. My wife does not have any HSA.
But it is complaining about the total family HSA eligibility, since it is not finding HDHP Ins for my wife.
Turbotax does not give me any options to correct this warning.
I ignored this message and going to send the TAX return as is.
Did anybody experienced this ?
You'll need to sign in or create an account to connect with an expert.
You have to tell the program your wife is covered. She is covered even if she is not the main person.
I did update that option to check the FAMILY HEALTH coverage, in the begining of step-by-step Q&A sessions.
But it gave that message once, then I could not go back to anywhere to check the coverage type. I checked the actual forms and confirmed that the coverage is FAMILY checked for all 12 months.
Now it is not complaining anything and verification also completed 100% good.
I think it might be a BUG in the TurboTax, since they stopped taking the 1095 form, which was checking the coverage until last year.
I was ablle to complete the EFILE process today, even though it was delayed 3 days after the 10/15 due-date. I hope the IRS will process it properly now.
Thanks.
