Turbotax is generating a total amount of Dividends on 1099-DIV, which exceeds the arithmetic sum of the individual 1099-DIV statements. Any explanation for this?

I do not want to over-report my total dividend income.

Where is TurboTax reporting this total? Is it on the Wages & Income statement? Sometime, TurboTax prints things there that may not make sense, because it might add taxable and  non taxable amounts or other things.

What is important are the numbers on your 1040. Are the qualified dividends on line 3a on your 1040 correct? Are the ordinary dividends on line 3b correct?

If you are an Online user, you can see your 1040 and its three schedules at any time by doing the following: on the left, click on Tax Tools, then click on Tools underneath, then click on View Tax Summary in the center, then click on Preview My 1040 back on the left.
