Turbotax is asking "Enter the amount from line 48 on your 2015 Form 5329". -I did not use this form last year. What do I enter?

Turbotax is asking "Enter the amount from line 48 on your 2015 Form 5329". -I did not use this form last year. What do I enter?

In general, if you do not have Form 5329 (Additional Taxes on Qualified Plans) as part of your prior year return, or if Line 48 is zero, you most likely did not overfund your HSA last year. In this case, enter zero.

Also, it's possible that you did not complete all the questions in the Health Savings Account section. You might return to that area and work through the interview screens again. Go to My Account >> Tools >> Topic Search, type in "hsa" and click GO. This will take you to the start of this section.

If you continue to receive an error on review, delete Form 1099-SA and/or Form 8889 (see instructions below). Log out of TurboTax, then log back in to re-enter your HSA information.
