The lump sum was received in 2020. Turbo Tax is asking if it was for 2019? I don't know what years were included in their mistake. How should I proceed? My wife only received $2,658 for 2019 which was a typical year. The lump sum was for $3,400 which covered a long time. What should I do?

Normally, the distributions for the years are listed. Once that amount is entered, the next question is was it already taxed. Which in your case, none of this was previously taxed which makes it all taxable this year.

So, the year breakouts don't matter. It is all taxable to you.
