T looks like I'm being tax at 100% on our SSI. Should be at 85% on taxes not 100%, or the taxable amount should be $42,561?

You didn't answer my question. Should  I be taxed at the 85% level on our SSI and not 100%?

First, SSI (Supplemental Security Income) is not taxable, and is not reported on a tax return.  However, given the $40,000+ amount, this is likely Social Security Retirement, which is reported on Form SSA-1099 here:

Federal > Wages and Income > Retirement  > Social Security

If you are looking at the TT Income Summary, that is only for your reference and lists just the gross (not taxable) amounts.  Both the gross and taxable figures will be shown on your actual tax return.

You are correct that the maximum amount of Social Security that is taxed is 85%.

Are you saying that the amounts in lines 6a and 6b on your 1040 are the same?
