Survivor Annuity Paid - RMD?

We received a 1099-R form for Survivor Annuity Paid. Turbotax is now asking how much of the $ amount was a RMD. This was a one time payment we received as a death benefit. We are not the new owners of the accout, and don't have access to the origional owner's acount either. How can we find that information?

TurboTax is actually asking how much of the distribution was eligible for rollover.  Since you say that "we" received this, it seems that you are non-spouse beneficiaries of the decedent and none of this distribution was eligible for rollover.  Therefore, it is all considered to be RMD.
