SSA-1099 incorrect. Box 4 (repayments) is overstated, making box 5 Net benefits understated

I have been in contact with SSA multiple times (both on phone and in person) since receiving my SSA-1099 form in January to inform them of the incorrect 1099 amounts.  I have not received any responses (written or verbal) back from them regarding this issue.   To summarize, in 2021 I started benefits at age 62.  Shortly after that I went back to work unexpectedly and decided to withdraw my SSA application, which you can do one time if done within 12 months of starting benefits, you just have to repay the benefits received which I did.   I reapplied and started benefits again in 2022 at age 63.   The problem is on my 2022 SSA-1099 form,  the amount of money they say I repaid is double the amount that I actually repaid.  I have been asking for them to reissue a corrected 1099, but they say it is correct because their internal system shows two separate payments a month apart (each for the amount of the one check I sent, as if double processed somehow).   I realize the error is in my favor, but I know it to be wrong and do not want to submit my taxes using their incorrect SSA-1099 numbers.   SO.... my question is should I file my taxes according to the SSA-1099 I received from them even though I know it to be wrong and have been in contact with SSA to try and get resolved, or should I submit the correct numbers.  My fear is that submitting it as they sent it understates my benefits and when they finally figure out their mistake, I'll end up not only owing the difference, but also a hefty penalty.  Any advice???

You should report the correct numbers since otherwise you would be submitting a false tax return.
