Solo 401k deferrals for QJV

I cannot get maximum credit for the solo 401k deferral for both my wife and myself. I’m filing as a QJV. I have two separate schedule c forms, both with equal income and expenses. I tried paying my wife from my sch c, splitting the income and not using the 1099NEC but nothing seems to work. It will max out both but there is limited income credit for my wife.

Solo 401k deferrals for QJV

To clarify, I can get the maximum deferral as the owner and taxpayer. I do have an EIN number and split the two schedule c amounts equally. I paid my spouse from the EIN number taxpayer schedule c as suggested in another post. The issue is that I cannot get a spouse deferral to adjust that schedule c income. I know it has to be a setting/checked box/entry etc because if I claim $0 on the EIN taxpayer schedule c it eliminates the deduction but if I then add the maximum allowed to my spouse it has no effect.
