I screwed up and made a $6000 roth contribution for the 2019 tax year in Dec 2019 for my wife and I ($12,000 total), then found out we were over the income restriction and had to recharacterize the contribution in Feb 2020. The original value grew by $40 in the interim, so the amount recharacterized to trad IRA was $12,040. I then did a backdoor conversion on these accounts the following day.
I'm trying to enter this but turbotax keeps telling me the $40 gain is an overcontribution. Anyone have any experience with this?
