If you retired in December 2021, you are not required to take a RMD for your 401(k) in 2021.

Your RMD obligations will start in 2022 if you satisfy the age requirement.

You retirement status has nothing to do with the RMD rule for an IRA.

Only your age matters.

IRA owners:

For tax years 2019 and earlier, you were required
to begin receiving distributions by April 1 of the
year following the year in which you reached age
701/2. If you reach age 701/2 in tax year 2020 or later, you
must generally begin receiving distributions from your IRA
by April 1 of the year following the year in which you reach
age 72.
