Do you have a TurboTax Online account?

We'll help you get started or pick up where you left off.

Our bank is not given as an option. Haven't received 1099-INT forms yet from bank. Do I need to wait until Monday to obtain these forms to enter this part?

Can I continue on with TurboTax and go back later to enter these forms?

Yes, you can come back to this section later and enter your interest income.

If you did not receive a Form 1099-INT from your bank, your total interest income may be less than $10.  If it is $10 or more, then the bank is required to issue a Form 1099-INT.  Even if the amount you earned is under $10, you still need to report it as income.

Use the following steps to come back to the interest income section after you have your details:

  • On the top row of the TurboTax online screen, click on Search (or for CD/downloaded TurboTax locate the search box in the upper right corner)
  • This opens a box where you can type in “interest income” and click the magnifying glass (or for CD/downloaded TurboTax, click Find)
  • The search results will give you an option to “Jump to interest income
  • Click on the blue “Jump to interest income” link and enter your information
