If there is no code B or code H in box 7 of the Form 1099-R, leave box 11 blank. If there is a code B or code H included in box 7, the distribution is from a designated Roth account in a qualified retirement plan like a 401(k), not from a Roth IRA. Box 11 has nothing to do with Roth IRAs.
Turbo tax will not allow you to continue on with the form until something is put in box 11.
If you have a code B, H or J in Box 7 that designates the account as a Roth then Turbotax will be looking for a date in Box 11. Please check the codes you have in Box 7
Not code J. Box 11 applies only to Forms 1099-R with code B or H in box 7. Code J indicates a distribution from a Roth IRA, not from a designated Roth account to which box 11 applies.
