My RMD for 2017 is appearing on 1040 in box 16B. Shouldn't it be in 15B? My 1099-R shows RMD box checked.

On the 1040, pensions and/or annuities go on Line 16. IRA's go on line 15.

When you entered the 1099-R, did you check the box that said IRA (between boxes 7 and 8)? Was that box checked on the 1099-R form itself?

I made the mistake.  There was a portion of the 1099-R on my form from the broker.  Later in the document was the full 1099-R that showed the SEP as being checked.   I then answered yes in Turbo Tax that the SEP was checked.  Amount then was handled properly.  My mistake.
