Michigan Retirement for Correction Officers

Are Retired Federal Correctional Officers also excluded from paying Michigan state taxes.  I retired 9 yrs ago and receive a 1099-R.  

There is this note under the ? in Turbo Tax

NOTE: Recipients of a qualifying distribution included in AGI from service in federal employment that is substantially similar to Qualified Fire, Police and County Corrections Service also qualify.
