Is it a bug that my state taxable income shows as -30,660.00 but my federal taxable income shows $0?

We only received social security this year so we have $0 taxes paid and $0 taxes due. My state return is showing a negative value under taxable income. Is this correct?

Doesn't sound correct, but what state is this for?   When you went through the state return, did you maybe remove your social security income after TurboTax automatically excluded it?   Some states will have SS income excluded automatically, and other states require an adjustment be entered while preparing the state return.   There may be a typo somewhere on the state return also.   Go back over the state return to check.

And are you sure you are even required to file a federal return?    Usually, if your only income is SS, you are not required to file tax returns.
