Is a 1099-G treated the same as a 1099-K? I have some rentals and the tenants used gov assist programs to have their rent paid, in which case the state sent me a 1099-G.

do I need to file this separate from the rental income, or is it simply just a record?

The 1099-G you received reporting your rental income is reported on Schedule E, the same way any other rental income would. Answer the question about receiving  a 1099-Misc with "no".

As you go through the income section for your rental property, there will not be a specific place to enter the Form 1099-G information.  As stated by leeloo, do not enter it as a Form 1099-MISC or Form 1099-K.  Instead, just enter the total rent amount on its own in the single box provided.  Keep the Form 1099-G with your tax forms as a reference.
