If you entered the tax withholding shown in box 6 of your SSA-1099, then TurboTax has entered that amount on your tax return and you are getting credit for it. If you had no other income that was taxable, you will get the withholding in box 6 as a refund. If you had other income that was taxable and have a tax liability as a result, the withholding will be used to offset the taxes you owe from the other income.

Box 6 has nothing to do with my q,thats taxes withheld. My q i did the tax rule change for 2019 . 2018 and priro yrs, only 80% of my sos sec was taxable. turbo is showing 100% is included.

It depends.

 

Social security is taxed once your modified adjusted gross income reaches $25,000 or $32,000 if married filing joint.  This includes income earned from all sources including your social security benefits.  The calculation is the same as in prior years.
