If I don't have any more 1099-R forms, how do I delete the "Form 1099-R (Untitled)" so it stops holding up my filing with "needs review"?

I have already gone to "Tax Tools" and "Tools" and "Delete a Form", but the form keeps showing up, requiring information that doesn't exist since there is no additional 1099 for me to report.

It sounds like you need to delete one or more individual entries of 1099-R forms.  Try these entries.

  • In TurboTax Online, click Federal down the left side of the screen.
  • Across the top of the page, click on Wages & Income
  • Under Your Income scroll down to Retirement Plans and Social Security.
  • Click Show more to the right.
  • Click Edit / Add to the right of IRA, 401(k) Pension Plan Withdrawals.
  • Click the trashcan to the right of the 1099-R that you want to remove.

Retirement benefits are basically an extension of compensation arranged by the employer and employee. Income taxes on most retirement plan contributions are deferred, meaning that income tax is not paid on contributed funds until they are withdrawn by the taxpayer.
