I want to amend my taxes with an IRA contribution

am retired and would like to amend my taxes before 4/15 with an IRA contribution, is this doable?

To contribute to a deductible IRA, you need to have earned income, such as wages or self-employed income.

If this is the case, you can contribute by April 15, then you can amend your tax return to report that contribution.

The deductibility of your contribution may be limited by your Modified AGI.
